Post Harvest
Once the mushrooms have been harvested, the Post Harvest team are responsible for quality checking, weighing, packing, and storing the mushrooms in very cold rooms. This way, our mushrooms are kept fresh and ready for collection. Trucks from White Prince, our distribution and marketing arm, will then bring these mushies to the retail stores, grocers, and markets across NSW, VIC, and QLD.
Harvesting
Each and every mushroom that we grow is skillfully hand-picked by our harvesters so it is done precisely and preserves the freshness of our mushrooms. These are then placed in the appropriate boxes or punnets depending on their size and grade. Our harvesters are trained to visually grade mushrooms, and safely use tools such as the lorry
that helps them reach the top and end shelves.
Growing
Growing mushrooms 365 days a year involves a combination of science, technology and informed decision-making. This is why innovation and people empowerment through coaching and open communication are at the heart of our culture. The mushrooms are grown in multiple shelves inside temperature-controlled rooms to make sure that our mushrooms are firm, meaty, and have a long shelf life!
